As dangerous temperatures settle over the region, Keene Mutual Aid is setting up a place for people to cool off and stock up on basic supplies.
The local volunteer network will operate hydration stations Thursday and Friday at Railroad Square in Keene from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., or until supplies run out, according to a post on the group’s Facebook page.
The effort is open to anyone. Along with water, the site will provide ice, electrolyte drinks and sunscreen. Keene Mutual Aid also plans to accept donations of money and supplies during the same hours.
The group said on Facebook that anyone who needs water delivered to a location should get in touch and it will try to help.
